After years of cancellations and postponements due to pandemics, demand for live entertainment has surged as celebrities such as Taylor Swift go on tour.
So much so that Taylor Swift made an appearance in the US Central Bank's Beige Book
an eight-times-yearly overview of the state of the US economy across several regions.
Officials from the Philadelphia Federal Reserve noticed in the Beige Book the significant boost that Taylor Swift concerts have provided to the region's tourism industry.
Despite the slowing recovery in tourism in the region overall, one contact highlighted that May was the strongest month for hotel revenue in Philadelphia since the onset of the pandemic,
in large part due to an influx of guests for the Taylor Swift concerts in the city," said Federal Reserve officials.
